A canopy of thick smoke lies over western Montana. But Glacier Park is still beautiful and the waters still run clear.
The photo is a little eerie however.
There are a couple high country fires in Glacier which they are monitoring either by webcam or helicopter.
We’ve gone more than two months without any significant rain. Our little valley has had no rain.
Now that it’s officially Autumn let’s hope the weather will break. The fires are beginning to surround many communities.

My first honey crisp apple off of our two year old tree. I am very proud! These are an amazing apple.
We haven’t seen any rain here for many weeks so things are drying up. It was still a beautiful walk last evening along Nine Pipes Bird Refuge.
The shadows are lengthening and the days are getting shorter. But finally my tomatoes are ripe and the new deck is done!
