Taken Wednesday evening at sunset on Finley Point. Usually the water is pretty choppy here
but Wednesday it was like glass.
For an after work paddle it was pretty much the bees knees.

We braved the crowds in Glacier Park over Labor Day, but because we’re paddlers we were able to find a quiet spot. This lake is paddle friendly, by the way. We have never seen so many quiet water craft before on Lake McDonald. That was just awesome and each one of them courteous and passionate about this place. It’s so uplifting to meet people with big smiles on their faces.
The water is amazing. These cliffs drop down below the lake until you cannot see the bottom anymore. It is rather eerie to float over the chasm. Below I saw a monster trout but he didn’t care I was even there since there must have been twenty + feet of water between us. Yes, it’s that clear and the color of Glacial silt.
We stayed on this beach for a long time. It was officially the perfect place to be for the day. Yea, summer!
Another day of summer on the lake is time well-spent.
“Summer is the time when one sheds one’s tensions with one’s clothes,
and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.
A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all’s right with the world.” ~Ada Louise Huxtable
