The photo is of a ca. 700-1200 year old pictograph my family paddled to on Flathead Lake in a kayak last summer. This sheer rock wall is a National Historical Treasure of the Confederated Tribes accessible only by boat.

    I’ve been reading The Great Cosmic Mother, so the images here resonate with that ancient story. These are wonderful. With time and words like yours perhaps we will return to an understanding of this art.
