  1. Aha, I agree! Let me explain: this is what my Mom used to call milkweed and I grew up all my life thinking that’s what it is. After collecting true milkweed seeds on our river trip last weekend, now I know the difference! You clued me in: Thank you.

  2. I know exactly how that kind of thing happens. Someone told me that a common flowering plant of my childhood was black mustard, and I’m sure I told my children that, too. After they were all grown and I looked through Weeds of the West I discovered that it is wild radish! I was so abashed. And properly humbled. The more I know, the less confident I am.
