Breath ~ Haiku Bones

Cannot hold out long
all you are depends on it
swimming through air locks
(Above piece is an image from a really weird dream I had the other night.)
frost encased pines
squirrel breaks a two month silence
winter’s deep breathing

The dream haiku has a bit of terror about it!
Thank you for visiting my blog.
This morning I dreamed someone gave me a cockatoo and an intricately made red Japanese garden lantern. Now what was that all about???? The anti-spam word is kooky. I agree.
Your haiku is right on. We do depend on it. Winter is breathing snow here today with all of its huffing and puffing.
Well, you better dream in your journal, it might mean something. It is better than dreaming of snakes.
I saw a squirrel running across the hayfield yesterday, and he was frantic, all that open space. Our’s seem to be around a lot in the winter these past few years. Frost encased pines, now that paints a beautiful image in my head.
Christine, These poems tell me of an inhale and an exhale. I like the idea of “winter’s deep breathing.”
Squirrels have been pretty active here, all through the winter.
Have you thought a lot about that dream? These are great haiku –
the squirrels here stayed out. There’s been so little snow (big breath of relief after the last two monster years) and not a lot of frigid.
Squirrels go mute in winter ? Never knew that. Loved the haiku.
squirrels are breathing
though you can barely hear them
above crackling frost
