Autumn amble ~ SWF

Christine November 5th, 2009

I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree
Indeed, unless the billboards fall
I’ll never see a tree at all.

–OGDEN NASH  Song of the Open Road

The light in the larch beckons a walk in the woods even though it is raining. The colors of the day are washed brighter by the wet weather.

Sometimes the path leads into the sunset with clearing skies.  Soon this will all be covered with snow.

At times the path could lead out onto the water….

You live in such a beautiful place Christine! So different from my crowded country (I’m listening to the busy road at the front as I type), that’s why your photos always bring me a good feeling! Thanks! (-:

Beautiful photographs, as always. As the second one scrolled up, I saw snow-capped mountains over open range. Then, the lovely clouds took shape.

Showing off that beautiful ‘big sky’ again, I see.

Does Montana have billboards? Maine got rid of them about the time I moved here. I wonder how many states still have them?

Yes, there’s something about wet tree trunks that makes the color really stand out!

Wow, amazing shots. I haven’t been through Montana since I was a kid. We scooted down there from Alberta while travelling to Vancouver from Toronto. I still have memories of that.

Amazing vistas! Your photo captures are magnificent. I especially enjoyed the intro by one of my favorite poets, Ogden Nash.
Have a great weekend. (oh the word verification is definitely for me, my daughter would ” verify”: It is “kooky!”

Ah, Christine. I stay away too long, but come back just when your words and images are prepared to deliver exactly what my heart longs to hear. Thank you.
