how you were broken
ancient waters slowed

but for your absence.

A lovely tribute. This poem along with the photo makes me feel sad for those that are gone and those that feel the pain of losing their life blood.
Sue has said it so well above. Beautifully expressed Christine. Nice work with this great prompt.
Another sad story, it makes we wonder sometimes who we think we are.
simple but powerful reminder of what we lose when we conquer!
this is a beautiful tribute. sad on many levels too.
How do we manage to break strong people? Who dares to come behind such majesty and kick it behind the knees? I don’t get that. But I do love this poem for its respect and wonder.
Moving words and beautiful piece…such great injustice were done to these people. Thank you for your poignant words.
Compelling photo you found to illustrate your equally strong poem.
